Frampton 10K

Val Kirby has written a race report on Frampton 10K which took place on the evening of Monday 1 July.

The Frampton 10K always seems to take place on a lovely warm evening.  Last night was no exception.  469 runners completed the course, which wanders along the lanes around Frampton-on-Severn (one guy puffed past me muttering ’someone told me this was a flat event” – it is fairly level but there is at least one small hill!).

Lee Stopford of Stroud & District Athletic Club (the event organisers) set a race record of 32.23.  Cotswold Allrunners fielded a team of 6 – Layla Dean, Tara Ellen Upton, Tina Cutler, Jenny Vallely, John Rooney and me.  John was 15th in a brilliant time of 36.57 and I was delighted with 60.44.

There was fantastic support from other Allrunners – thank you all for cheering us on: it does make a difference. That was event 9 in my sequence of 12.  Next challenge – Two Tunnels Half Marathon in Bath on 14 July
