Forest Half
I’ve heard lots of good things about the Forest Half Marathons. Here is Nikki’s race report and a link to sign up for these events.
Myself, Jamie, Jennie, Phil and Danny ran the Forest of Dean half marathon on Sunday 30 September. It was the Autumn version of this particular half and the four of us were doing it as the Spring one that we had originally entered was postponed because of the snow, and we couldn’t do the rearranged date.
The course is slightly different and we soon realised that it included quite a lot of hills!! Nothing as steep as what we do in training, but they were very long and gradual which is always difficult in a half! It was a beautiful route though, through the forest trails with no roads in sight and a stunning lake. Here we found much appreciated support from Lucy, Woody & Charlie.
The race was tough but everyone achieved what they set out to do and better – completing the course in the time they were hoping for or getting the experience they wanted. The finishers medal was really nice and I would highly recommend this well organised race.
